There are natural disasters like earth quakes and weather as well as wars and human rights violations going on daily in our world. Here is a CNN resource showing several events where people, animals and the earth needs help and lists of organizations that offer help.

Choose one area that needs help that catches your interest. First click on the BLUE headline link to read the full story

2. Use this form to help you take notes on a story you will write about this problem and those trying to help. First log in to your Google Docs

3. Write a news story on the topic. Include what, where, when, why, who, in the story - use the planning template and this should be easy
Use the area below your writing plan so you can easily see your notes.
Blog post
When writing your blog post:
- Include information on the problem and location.
- The organization that is helping and what exactly they are doing
- What you think about what is happening and what can you do to help? Spread the word, raise funds... ?
Once you have proofed your document share it with Mrs. Saylor. With her approval, post it to the class blog: http://Looking4good.blogspot.com
Insert an image to help tell the story of the problem in your blog post
Add who wrote it but only first name, last initial
Reply to at least one Blog post
Read over a few of your classmates blog posts.
Click on comment, Write a few sentences about the post you read. Give them positive comments and constructive ideas for improvement. When you are ready to post, use the anonymous button then submit.
